no he wasn't.through scientific discovery and a lot of behind the scenes work he was actually born on or around September 15.without going into a long story the checking of solar charts and positions of the stars, planets etc from that era brings you to 15 September.we only have it in December to finish of the year.makes things neat and tidy if you get my meaning.

The Byzantine emporer Constantine was a pagan who worshipped the sun god and celebrated the sun god's birthday on the 25th December, about the time of the winter solstice. When Constantine became a Christian he replaced the birthday of the god of the sun with that of the Son of God. That is why we celebrate Christmas on the 25th of December. The consequence of this is that we lost the actual date of the birth of Jesus.
As for the calendar: Jesus was probably born about the year 4BC. In those days they used the Julian calendar, not the Gregorian calendar we use today. That didn't come in until the 16th century. Due to an error in calculating the time of Christ's birth the year 1, in the Gregorian calendar, was a few years later than it was intended to be, hence Jesus being born 4 years BC.
(The year 1BC was followed immediately by the year 1AD, there was no year 0. Consequently the 3rd millennium began on 1 January 2001, not 2000. This means the year 2007 is the 7th year of the 3rd millennium not the 8th year.)

First of all, the calendars are not the same. We are now over 2000 years out of sync with the one used at that time and this year the actual anniversary could well be 25th December. Nobody knows. Easter is usually around April time which, under your own calculations, comes exactly 5 months after December.

No. Early Christians arranged their celebrations to coincide with pagan &/or Jewish observances to shield themselves from persecution. Later when Christianity became the official religion of Rome, these were set in stone to make conversion easier for the pagans.
The Bible says that Mary was told she was pregnant in 'the sixth month'. One would assume that she was only one or two months pregnant at the time or (hopefully) she would have known something was amiss. That would put Jesus's birth sometime in the spring.

I remember learning that Jesus was born in the spring time, and around the end of December is when the three wise men reached him with their gifts (after traveling from asia, following a star?), which is why we give gifts on that day in celebration of His birth.
Although, the Roman Catholic Church really has based tons of days and dates around pagan timelines, as mentioned eariler, so I wouldn't be surprised if that played a role in the 25th being chosen specifically.

Most biblical scholars believe that Jesus was actually born in late August or early September. Jesus birth is celebrated by the Catholic Church and other Christian faiths on December 25th because the Catholic Church was trying to assimilate the Pagan holiday of Solstice and win converts to the Catholic faith.

No . Nobody can [prove any dates this far back in time. The end of December was a time of Pagan celebrations and our Christmas was just tagged on to these many centuries ago.Was originally something to do with the winter solstice I believe.

I read once that chinese astrologers at that time noted that the only night sky phenomenon that remotely resembles the star of Bethlehem happened in late April. The 25th dec is actually an ancient pagan celebration of the winter solstice that the church took over,as they assumed it would be easier for people who were used to celebrating on this date.

Right.... they tell me the Jerusalem Bureau of Vital Statistics computer was damaged beyond repair in 70 AD and His birth certificate was lost at the same time when the Temple was destroyed.
It is like Washington's and Lincoln's birthday. We celebrate their birth on the same date but not on either’s actual date and call it Presidents Day.

No - the origin of Christmas was pagan festival which was about way before Jesus. Christians just used that festival and put there own story with it - just like Easter!
It's most likely That Jesus was born in Summer, as in Bethlehem winter would be far to cold for Shepard's to be out with their sheep.
