If you were on birth control, it would be possible to manipulate the start date. As it is, there isn't any way to do it. Even so, it's not a good idea to play with one's hormonal cycle. So either tuck a tampon or pad in your purse and get on with life. It doesn't have to stop just because you got your period. It's a part of you, and will be for many years to come. Best learn to adapt now.

Do you mean to delay it, speed up it's starting date, or to actually prolong it (to make it longer than it usually is)?

To delay it, nothing, other than messing with your hormones (using the pill, ring, patch, ring, etc), will delay it from starting. Sorry.

To make it start sooner, orgasms! They cause uterine contractions, which can trigger the shedding of the uterine lining, begining your period earlier (and the earlier it starts, the earlier it ends).

To actually prolong it (to make it longer than average), I have no idea why you'd actually want to...and have no suggestions, sorry.

best of luck,

The only way to do that is to take the pill for a time. Before doing this I would recommend talking to your dr to see what they think.
