Does having sex hurt? And does it sometimes bring on a period? I mean if u were a day or two late, then had sex would u be likely to wake up the next morning in pain and with some bleeding? Also, have u ever collapsed with the pain? Thank you for all honest answers.

Sweetie, you've got a tough row to hoe. Yes to all. There are ways to live with the disease, but it is debilitating. I remember all of what you're asking. The first couple of days of my period were agony for me.

It was such a revelation to me when a doctor said women on their period could have an active, normal life. I didn't know what that was like.

When I was finally diagnosed, it all made sense, but it was hell to live with.

Hang in there baby.

Pain associated with sexual activity is one of the top symptoms of Endometriosis, and yes, it can be so debilitatingly and acutely painful that it causes collapse.

As a side note, Novasure is endometrial ablation, a procedure that is considered an alternative to hysterectomy. It is often done for dysfunctional and excessive uterine bleeding. It is *100% ineffective* as a treatment for Endometriosis, as it permanently burns out the lining of the uterus (endometrium) only; Endometriosis by definition is endometrial glands and stroma implanted elsewhere in the body. You can't treat an ectopic disease located throughout the pelvis/abdomen by working inside the confines of the uterus. Laparoscopic excision is considered the gold standard of treatment for Endometriosis, not uterine ablation (which is also not the same as the surgical laser ablation of the implants many gyns perform).

I have never had sex but from talking to some of my other friends with endo yes, sex can hurt because of endometriosis. In the literature about endometriosis when they describe some of the most common symptoms for endometriosis painful intercourse is one of the symptoms listed.

It can make your periods painful and also heavier, sometimes lighter.

I have never collapsed because of the pain of the endo or needed to go to the ER but several of my friends have.

I would recommend a consultation with a Pain Management dr that is experienced with treating the chronic pain of gynecologic diseases such as endometriosis.

it relatively is amazingly conceivable and jointly as complicated- it often treatments endometriosis... the return and forth down the start canal breaks all the vines (as i've got heard them defined) and often cases after organic childbirth- the mummy is cured.
