Can anyone here really remember how they lived without the Internet?

I don't remember how I could stand it going around without the Internet, before it went public. All I remember is that I understood its potential and just felt right from the moment I sat down and played around with it.

Life before the internet was much more expanding mentally and physically. Instead of being indoors and isolated in front of a computer, you were likely to be active(physically) and in an environment that required all of your senses, stimulating ur brain and encouraging growth instead of numbing it and all but eliminating any physical exertion. hahaha damn i'm getting old :-(

well i think before internet there was probalby more activeness although t.v would of been an alternative to being active. more extra curricular activities would of been taken and definietely less plargarism on school work lol library's would of been in more use and it would of been harder for stalkers before internet, its so easy to get info on the internet these days, it can be dangerous but on the plus side the it is easy to learn things seeing the internet contains pretty much anything you want to know and also it can be easy to instant message someone or comment on a social networking site if ur in a rush and dont have time to call someone but on that subject people also develop almost a second image of themselves using social networking sites and can sometimes develop less contact in life and focus more on there social online status but in general of course with this kind of technology the internet comes with pros and cons.

Yes I remember, all of my friends were thinner because they did other things instead of sitting in front of a computer all day. The same could be said about their complexion, they used to be much more tan.
We actually looked things up in real books as well.

I myself have started limiting my internet/computer use and getting out more, doing the things I used to love doing before parking my butt infront of the computer, and to be honest I feel really good.
Granted, on occasion I fall back into the internet trap, but I have realized that there is so much to do that is so much more fun and enjoyable than surfing the www

Unfortunately yes I can remember life without the internet. The internet is not the b all and end all of everything - very good for a lot of things - obviously I am older and do not rely on the internet to keep me amused, unless I am YA

Yes, I DO remember life before the internet.
We came home from school and go out and play with other kids until dark, have dinner together with family (and we were told that dinner was ready by mouth instead of mum emailing us in our rooms). We actually talk face to face and learnt the art of conversation.

When us kids in the neighbourhood disagree - we have a punch up, sort out our differences and made friends again. We don't have to hide and hold grudges and annonimously call names and send nasty mesages through chatrooms. We actually face up to our problems and sort it out.

We went to the library and sit down quietly to read and research as opposed to google search with mp3 blaring in the bakground - needless to say - we hold our concentration better.

We went to bed earlier instead of surfing all night. We got enough sleep and wake up refreshed.

Then comes Yahoo!Answers..... :o(

Sure I do!! I still do the same thing-watch TV, watched VHS tapes, and colored. I don't spend a whole lot of time on the Internet at home. The only real changes I've made are the VHS has been replaced with DVDs and I play solitaire on a handheld game. What did you do? Thanks for asking!!!
