I am an Egyptian guy and my American gf and i are thinking of getting married while she is here in Egypt and move to the states after that.
I need to know more about the procedure and can we leave together to the states right after marriage or i have to wait for awhile.
Thanks in advance.

Most people can get married in any country. Check out what Egyptian laws say about getting married to a person from another country. I am from the US but got married in Sweden. So you need to check out what your laws say about it then do what they say. I believe you need a visa to go to the states. She needs to start that. she needs to check out the American Embassy website for instructions on how to get a K-3 visa it is the fastest then she needs to fill out the paperwork send it to whatever addressin the states they tell her to send it to and then it is forwarded to the American Embassy in Egypt within 4 months. Then the embassy will send you a packet that you will need to accomplish and fill out you will also need an affadavit of support from her along with her tax returns proving that she has the appropriate amount of money to support you until you can work (3 months after entering the states) then after you do what the embassy says you will be finger printed (one finger only) and if everything is in order you get your visa. When you get to the states you need to contact the BCIS or whatever they call themselves today and get your status changed so you can start working. The entire process to get to the states should take about 6 months. The K-3 visa is a finace visa it does not matter if you are married yet or not she needs to fill this one out and another. The embassy can say all what she needs and she can print out the documents. If you do not need a visa then of course right after you are married you can go to the states but I do believe being egyptian you need one but check on that too.

Your American gf should call "American Citizen Services" at your local American consulate. If there is one in your city, she should just go over there. The lines at ACS are not usually long at all. They will have all the information you need about marrying an American Citizen. In some countries there is even a brochure for you to read and / or a packet of forms and other information. Good luck!

First you find someone that you like and they also likes you maybe fall in love with with that person then get engaged plan your wedding and get married. Any other way would be an illegal act for which the United States government will have no mercy on you with a lifetime bar from ever entering these shores again, therefore I insist that you take heed don't do anything foolish today that will cost you so dearly tomorrow...

Check with the American Embassy on this one. More then likely they'll probably think your just trying to get into the States as a citizen. They'll give you the facts.

Your American girlfriend can apply over here in the US for a fiancee visa, but you have to be married and she has to prove that she has been over there. It does not take that long. Good luck!

you can move to the states temporarily for now but u will have to move back when the permit is up. marriage immigration paperwork takes years to be permanent.
my bro married his girl she got a pass to stay in the us for 6 mos then she had to go back until her paperwork cleared...that was another 8 mos but he was away for the military anyway. but yeah it takes years.
