My 8mo just started solids about a month ago. This week i started giving her pasta, potato in tiny squares, and carrots but now she hasn't gone #2 in three or four days is she ok?

sound like too much starch. some babies tolerate it better. she needs to be started on veggies like spinach, other greens, sweet potatoes, apples, prunes or plums. it is much better to control this by her diet rather than karo syrup (which can be used if needed but thats a lot of sugar) try changing what she is eating.
give your baby one plum w/apple baby food or one spinach baby food daily and she will be pooping!
good luck

Babies digestive systems respond adversely to changes in diet very easily. Chances are your little gal is a bit constipated because of the introduction of some new foods.

As long as she doesn't seem to be struggling to go (grunting, bearing down) she will poop eventually. Sometimes it can be a week. Make sure she is getting enough liquids (breast milk, formula or water) and hold off on introducing more new foods until she is pooping again. You could also try some prunes or prune juice. Some people say apple juice also has some laxative abilities.

If she starts showing signs of stuggling to poop, or starts vomitting large amounts, consult your Dr. She may need a suppository or other laxative.

your little one is fine....as their system adjust to solids binding is normal. I suggest prunes every few days to keep her regular. you can do it in either juice or baby food form. My son has issues with regularity and a touch of gerbers prune juice every other day is the only thing to keep him regular. just think their systems are just getting use to solid waste and no matter how hard you try they dont consume enough fiber and what not to make good poops. if prune juice or prunes in general doesnt make a movement in a day then try karo syrup in water. Since youre child has gone this long with out a BM though I would definitely call the Dr. if it continues after those remidies.

The foods you've started with are very starchy and are quite constipating.

My suggestion is to wait until closer to 12mo to start carbs. Stick to veggies/fruits that are easy digest:

-avacado
-banana
-yams
-peaches/pears

As long as your daughter seems well, she's proboly fine.
Don't worry and think she's constipated unless her stools are hard/dry pellets.

That said, it is normal for babies to decrease bowel frequency once solids begin. There's more complex foods for her little tummy to digest and it takes longer.

You should cut down just a bit and nurse her (assuming you're breastfeeding) or giver her some pureed prunes or apricots.

Yes...unless she is screaming in pain..she will be fine. Her digestive system has never had to handle solids so it will be slow going for a while until she is more used to them. One of my kids didn't poo for 10 days once....I took him to the doctor and they said that it can happen but gave him a mild suppository to clear him out...It sure did! If you are worried tke her to your doctor or ask a pharmacist for their opinion. I often find they know what they are talking about more than the docs! Best of luck.

She needs more fiber like rice cereal or rice or any fiber food to take #2. My son is 8 month as well and he always poop after a feeding. Maybe you are not giving enough as well. Also give water after eating.

Sounds like constipation. My dr. suggested pear juice for my baby. I would also put her back on formula until she started having bowel movements again.
