High school was free of embarrassments, but Junior High school had two big ones:
My desk fell over in study hall and my skirt was so short and so tight I couldn't get up. The teacher came over to help, but couldn't do anything. So, she left me there.
Finally, everyone was looking away and I was able to get out of the desk and get up again.

Later that same year (all my planets must have lined up) I was removing my nail polish in my team-taught History class, when I spilled a small amount of polish remover. This was very early in the synthetic fabric years, and the manufacturers evidently hadn't tested nail polish remover on their fabrics.

The polish remover dripped onto my dress. I dabbed it with a piece of tissue and thought nothing more of it. A moment later, I looked down. There was a hole in my dress.
In surprise, I stared at my dress. As I stared at it, the hole got bigger. Now in disbelief I kept staring at it as if that would stop the process. It didn't.
I realized immediate action was necessary, walked up to my teacher, who was lecturing all 60 of us, and asked for a pass to the office.
In the office I asked the secretary if I could go home and change clothes. She deferred me to the Principal. He agree to talk to me, but didn't really believe my dress was continuing to dissolve. He lectured me (unnecessarily) and I kept trying to impress on him that I needed to leave NOW. He didn't react, so I resorted to a better method of communicating my peril: I stood up. Even the Principal could see that my dress had further dissolved since I came into his office.
He sent me home immediately. Fortunately for me, I was wearing a half-slip under my dress; unfortunately, the dress was blue and the slip was red. By now the dress had vanished to the point of having no lower half. It was just a blouse by then. The principal insisted I take his very heavy, dark suit coat to wear on the way home.
I lived around three-quarters of a mile from school, and I left right away. Never the less, by the time I was half way home, the entire dress had disintegrated. I was so glad to have the heavy coat on, even though it was a hot day.
Once I changed clothes and returned to school, I returned the Principal's coat, and shared with him the only part of my dress that was left -the zipper.

I put those shoulder pad things inside my bra!!! I walked around all day thinking I was looking HOT, only to go to the ladies room at the END of the day, looked in the mirror, and saw that thay were BOTH STICKING OUT!!!!! I almost died...LOL No one mentioned it though, so I think I was safe.

I also was late to school one day. My friend and I took a short cut, only to come to a dead end. It had a 6 ft chain link fence across it. She climbed up and over but I had a skirt on. I tried it anyway and when I went to jump down, the back of my skirt got caught and I was hanging there for 10 minutes while my friend peed her pants laughing...LOL. Thank God it was in the days before thongs...LMAO!!!!!
