Wrong time to be holidaying in India. Its hot everywhere. But try out Mount Abu, Darjeeling or Nilgiris.

Summers is a bad time to holiday in India (If you are a foreigner and want to see 'India'). We Indians love to go up north during the summers as the hill stations offer a much needed respite from the scroching sun. Now this is because we have all seen the most haunted tourist places like the Taj Mahal, Delhi and Rajasthan.
If you wish to see these places...u need to travel between sept-march. Or else if you like the sun the Indian way...what the heck...come on over.... we'll all welcome you with open arms :-)
All the best for your trip.

In summer, wherever you go, every place is overcrowded. Please keep this in mind while deciding on place.
There are thousands of options in all tourist places ( beaches, hill stations, religious circuit et al).
Please decide on the general geographical area you wish to visit (like Jammu, Rajasthan, Kerala, Coastal Maharashtra etc) and then ask a question. If you are specific then you will finds many interesting and useful responses here.
Personally I have always liked to visit CHAMBA in Himachal Pradesh. The place is fairly un-crowded, easily reachable, nice accomodation and varied food-fare. Many tourist spots in the vicinity adds to the old world charm of the place. The town has actually completed 1000 years of existence some time back. Ancient temples in the city are worth visits.
Happy vacation.

Adaman Islands is the best place to be in summer. Coz when its summer in continental Indian..its the beginning of monsoon over the islands. It has everything that Goa has to offer, plus many more.

Go on a venture to Thekkady in Kerala. This is the best place where you can have harmony with nature. Even Kovalam beach in Kerala is awesome.
