Ok, so I'm paying at the fast food place, the total is 8.22, so I give the person there a 10.00 bill, they punch it into the register and it shows how much change I get back. If I then decide to give them an additional .25 to avoid a bunch of change, they are totally lost.

Would this happen to you too?

$1.53 is your change, I'm like a calculator. You give 10.00 and add .25 to 8.22 = 8.47, so 10.00 - 8.47 = 1.53.

Solved like nothing, Swear to god I didn't use a calculator, I'm good at math.

Easy - you gave them 10.25 for a 8.22 debt -

you count 3 cents - that takes care of the 25 cents - then 2 more dollars - which all adds up to 10.25

No, because I am really good at math. The other day at Burger King my bf gave the lady(mgr or asst.mgr)change after she had already open the drawer and they had to turn around and ask me. She was like I need to get a calculator to put beside the register.

No because I know how to count backwards towards the original amount of money given.

Umm if they don't know that 25 is three more than 22 there are some serious issues going on.

No. I was a cashier for 3 years. You get pretty used to quick and simple math. Of course some people are just slow (some of my coworkers) and will never get it.

Nope, I was a cashier back in the day when you actually had to count back change. It's a lost art. I wish it would make a comeback.
