It is monsoon, season. Many would advise you not to go to Hill stations during monsoon. Even in Kerala, monsoon is not considered a tourist season. But, I would like you to visit Kerala during monsoon. It is a beauty to witness the falling rains, continually in Kerala, with all and sundry carrying the umbrellas. You may visit any place, say Eranakulam or Trivandurm and stay put there without going around places, excepting for the temples, if there is some let up. Kerala is at its best, during monsoon.

First, congrats on getting married. Welcome to the club.

Where are you based currently? If you are anywhere near Mumbai, plan your vacation somewhere near sea-shores. In monsoons, beaches and the small hamlets alongside beaches are exotic. Try anywhere from Alibag, Harihareshwar, Ganapatipule, Malwan. In these places, accomodation and food (both veg and non-veg) availability is good. Else try Goa.

You can try Mahabaleshwar / Panchgani. In monsoons, both the places are worth experience, particularly in falling rains.

If you like rains, go to Kerala or Goa. If you prefer a hill station without snow, visit Darjeeling or the Nilgiris.
