Most companies will not allow you to access their network, the possibility of you taking a virus in is too horrendus to think about, be aware that once you are on a company Intranet, then you have bypassed the firewall.

The best you can ever hope for is to ask the company to put in a wireless router that only allows internet access.

If you don't have a wireless hotspot there, you'll need to get a wireless card from the major carriers like Sprint, Verizon or Cingular. They all offer full-time interent connection, even while you're driving!

If you work for a large firm (like I do) you can sometimes get the card for free, and a greatly reduced monthly rate. Doesn't hurt to ask!
