for instance how do we know that we are all real? couldn't we all be in a deep sleep and dreaming each other? could all people be a figment of the imagination? etc?

Possibly. Who knows this world/whatever is so messed up and weird. We learn something new everyday and maybe that'll be the next thing. I don't know if I'd be happy or sad. See I kinda hate my life...

Okay, how do I know I'm real?

The only way I know I'm real is I have a wonderful 3 yr. old son that makes me realize how real life is. On top of that if the f*cked up life I've been living isn't real then wake me up now cuz all I want is to be a happy family with my husband and son.

No, we really are not real we just think we are. Our bodies vibrate at a specific frequency and everything in that range of frequency seems real to us because our molecules vibrate such that we do not go through certain objects, but we can move through air and water. We can sense the pressure of the air and movement of water around us and we can sense sound waves going through us, but if you break us down to the most basic component we are just a series of waves of energy. So no we are not really real. Just an after thought of God.

If all of this was just a figment of your imagination, wouldn't you have a better life? Things would go my way more.

pinch me!!!

seriously I've thought about that too....what if we are in deep coma and we are just living a fantasy, a dream, a programmed life, and we are being studied, our brain activity is being processed...etc.etc.ect...it doesn't matter! as long as I can go to sleep in a few mins

What you're talking about is called Solipsism. It's a neat concept. All I really am to you are some black squiggly lines, but you think, therefore I (on the left) am. -- from "Cogito, ergo sum" (I think, therefore I am) - Rene Descartes

Some people believe that we're all dead and reliving memories of our lives, and that's why we have de ja vu so often.

So, no, I don't think I can prove that I'm real.

My imaginary friend can bang his head on the desk and not make a noise cos he's not real.

Bang your head on the desk. If you make a noise, youre real.
