If you rewrite the second equation into slope intercept form, y = mx + b, then you have:
y = 5x - 7
y = 5x + 8
Now you can see that they have equal slopes (m = 5), and are therefore parallel. Graphing both lines will also indicate this. Parallel lines do not intersect, so there is no solution to this system.

good luck!

Lines have same gradient of 5
Line 1 passes thro` (0,-7)
Line 2 passes thro` (0,8)
Lines are parallel and do not meet.
i.e. no solution which is Option d.

You may notice that the slope of each line is the same, resulting in parallel lines, which do not intersect.

it is easy just use the simultaneous equation which is
y=5x-7
y=5x-8 and then multiply one by postive one and the other by negative one, once you get that you should find the x or y intersept. easy.
