Would you recommend buying a 2006 Audi A4 Quattro?

I am thinking of buying one, but everyone says Audi's are bad cars. I heard if one thing goes wrong, then it's like a chain reaction of more problems. But consumerreports.org gave the 2006 model a very good rating in new and used car verdict and excellent in other categories. Confused! Should I buy one?

Hi, I had a 2002 Audi A4 2.0 I traded in a few months ago for a 2006 A4 2.0 Quattro. I had good luck with the 2002 (It had 68,000miles when I traded it in), only small standard problems, but all covered under the warranty (I had no problems from 50K miles until I traded it in!). The '06 also is last year that comes with full maint for the first 50k miles, which is nice. I love the cars.... they drive very stable, in all weather, including New England winters! They feel solid when you are driving it, and all the reviews from edmunds and other reviewers say exactly that. Don't believe the negative 'hype', that seems to be left over from much earlier models from the 80's. I'm sure you'll enjoy the A4 if you decide to go for it!!

The A4 Quattro sedan is fairly reliable, but other Audis are not. Keep in mind that Audis are fancy VWs. There are other cars that I would consider and test drive first, including: the BMW 3-Series, Lexus IS, Saab 9-3, Volvo S40, Acura TSX and TL, Infiniti G35, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The BMW is my personal favorite. I have a 2007 328i Sport, and found it to have the sportiest handling, nicest fit and finish, and most refinement. I also have a 2005 325i Sport. If you decide on the A4 get the 3.0. The 2.0 T is noisy and unrefined. No car in this class can compare to the BMW 3 Series.

Thats a bunch of cr*p, Audi's are excellent cars, Ive never owned one but have a few friends who have and they are fun to drive, especially the Quattro. Your also buying a 2006 so there is nothing to go wrong with that car for a long time. Audi engineering is as good as BMW and Mercs

Audis are great cars if you take care of them. The new A4s are so much more refined and fun to drive than the previous years. I have seen few problems with newer models. Go for it! Don't listen to most peoples opinions when they straight up say they are junk. They most likely they bought a bad one with high miles or the car was abused.

Definitely they are good cars the A4 is the most reliable of the bunch too i have an A6 and i have had very few issues (it has 142K mile too) maintenance can be expensive (parts and Labor are high) but find a good independent mechanic to do routine work (brakes, oil and filters) or do it yourself and you will save allot of money. overall a great car. ( many people equate Audi's reliability as being bad because in the late 80's and early 90's their cars had electrical issues the newer cars are as reliable if not more reliable than their BMW or MB rivals.

Yes i can recommend one the 2006 models have very few problems.These cars are designed for high speed use on the autobahns of Germany.The quality control is exceptional having been to their factory .I have owned and worked on Audis for a long time in the UK regards Mick.

I have a 1998 Audi A6 Quattro and believe me after so many miles of me driving I haven't ran into any problems that aren't normal for every car, buy it!

They are good cars. You just have to make sure you buy one at a well known audi dealer. I have an Audi A6 and never had a problem with it.

Audi is a good car go for it. If you want to listen to rumours/hearsays etc, you wont get what you want.I am happy you already checked fact and figures.Vorsprung Durch Technik!
