Wow you really know how to load up a question with just a few words friend! This is probably the most grey foggy kind of thing in anyone's life that can be a thing that both recognize they were wrong for each other and get past the hurt you caused each other..

Then there are some who make that pain the whole of thier identies and if they can't have you with them and love them .. then they must hate them..

and the different types of personalities and situations are so deep and wide.. these two small drops of water on this fire is in not way going to answer it..with just these words..

Yes they can.. ...... ( now comes that really awful subject closed rip open artist in the english language..... BUT..)

do you understand me? probably not, but I do not have a single yes or no for you .. this can only be answered by each couple... as individual and private to us as our bathtub and the shower curtain ..

I am still friend with my exes. I outgrew the awkwardness with my high school boyfriends, so I see no reason why we should't be friends if we broke up 15 years ago.
I am still very close friends with a guy I dated in college- but we started dating for the wrong reason. We got along great, but there was never any significant physical attraction or passion. After we broke up, tere was still no passion, but we still got along great. I would say it depends a lot on the type of the relationship- if it was more of a friendly tepid relationship, then it's completely viable to stay friends. If it was emotionally charged, then it might be a lot more difficult.

I think you can, but not for a while afterwards. Like not for a few months while you both adjust to not looking at them in "that" way.

Except for me... I tend to have pretty viscious break ups, and usually the ex is the one I want to hurt, even months afterward...

I guess it really depends on the nature of the break up. See some break ups aren't emotional, someone might move away or it just doesn't work for both of them.

YES!! I'm best friends with my ex and have no problems. For one, she knows everything about me so I can talk about anything with her. Since she knows me she can hook me up with my type of girls.
Plus she's just a blast to be with, I'd even say she's more fun then my best guy friend.

No she just told you that trying to soften the blow of the break up. What she;s really saying is she doen't want to ever have sex with you. This being the case, what would you base a friendship on?

I believe that is possible. I have many friends who are still good friends with their ex's. However myself, I can't seem to talk to any of mine.
