I think you should go to the hospital just to be on the safe side cause they say when you stomach tightens up that's a contraction and I had a friend that didn't even know that she was in labor until she went to her ob apt for her check up and she was dilate to 8.So don't take any chances and go get check.Lower back pain is a sign of labor too I had it with both of my pregnancy.

Braxton Hicks are usually uncomfortable but not painful. However, with my first son, I went into labor at 28 weeks with painful contractions, but I had the lower back pain like you had for a few days beforehand. I figured it was because of the weight I put on and the fact that I was in a car accident the year prior and have aches and pains there and not that it was a sign of labor. Try drinking two glasses of water and lying down for a half hour to see if they stop. If they don't stop or if they start become regular, you should go to your doctor to be checked out. It doesn't hurt to go even if it's only Braxton Hicks, it'll give you peace of mind to know if everything's ok. Good luck to you.

It could be Braxton Hicks or true labor you don't know until you get checked. I would go to the hospital just to be sure. Cause if you are in labor they can stop it if you get there in time. I deliver my first son at around 34 weeks cause I waited to late about getting checked. He weighed 4 lbs and his lungs were not fully developed. He had to stay 2 months in the hospital. So get check for your safety and the baby's!

They would most likely be Braxton Hicks and the pain you feel in your back and thighs is probably due to your sciatic nerve being squashed by your uterus as it contracts. I always get bad sciatic pain in late pregnancy due to that and also bad posture or the baby lying on it. If you are worried, see your doctor but it sounds harmless to me. Best of luck,.

when you suspect anything is wrong SEE YOUR DOCTOR they are't going to think your wasting their time or that you're being silly. I can make an assumption that your body is beginning to prepare for birth by giving you braxton hicks and the baby could be resting on a main artery that feeds blood to your legs and lower back(hence the pain) as that happened to me but id be much happier to know you went to the doctor and asked him/her to be 100% sure

I had something similar at about the same time... My doc told me to lay on my left side and drink LOTS of water... will slow Braxton Hicks and "real" contractions... Yep, they went away.
Oh yeah, and if they become "regular" call you doc.
