Hi, I am a woman who does not have much confidence. Everyone say's I'm pretty, but I don't believe them- I feel I am too short, and that my hair is too wavy, so I asked guys on here what they think of me. I described what I look like, and how I'm intelligent. I did this because my friends have suggested guys don't want intelligent girls because they are are intimidated by them. Well, the response from most of the guys was positive, but most of the women basically bullied me. How can people be so cruel?

i guess it made them feel better about themselves bullying someone that they've never even met in person. women are evil sometimes. don't worry about what they say, their opinion shouldn't matter to you. i hope you feel better.

It is too bad that people act that way. Human beings are capable of a range of behavior from aggressive and cruel to empathetic and caring. Some of the people might be very helpful in other contexts.

As far as being smart, you're going to need a smart guy, and you won't be satisfied with less since you're intelligent. Other guys might be appealing in other ways, but in the end you'll find them boring.

They're probably just jealous. I know that's a fairly generic stock response to any kind of bully question, but that's because it's so often true!

It seems as if the "modern woman" is being made out to be a facetious, superficial creature who uses as little brain power as possible, and uses their genitalia to maximum effect so as to never work a day of hard labor in their life. At least, that's what pop culture and media influences seem to be inducing.

They're jealous because you've decided not to conform to that mold, and they have.

People can be so cruel because you give a bunch of anonymous strangers who you do not know a great deal of power over you. Does anything you hear on Yahoo! Answers really have the power to change your self-image, or are you just trying to have what you already think confirmed. You need to decide who you are and what you stand for by yourself and ignore what people on here say (don't ignore what I just said).

Maybe she was treated bum as a child (or even as a woman ) and being mean and hurtful is all she knows....

My advice to you is to not feel anger towards her. Instead, try to send good thoughts her way. With her negativity, it sounds like either she desperately needs good things in her life, or she just likes getting a rise out of people. Either way, positive vibes and thoughts directed towards her will do you both some good.

My dear, a woman is a ***** and in more ways than one, you need to get confidence in yourself to appreciate why the woman are so bitchy with you, they are plain jeleous of you thats all, and if the guys say you are beautiful then why not believe them and ignore the girls, remember we are born to judge woman better looking then ourselves that is the unfortunate thing about us, and yea I'm a woman

Because you're leaving yourself open for criticism. What's too short anyway? Im 5'0 and no men have ever had a problem with it, I actually cant get them to stay away LOL but if you have low self esteem then thats a personal problem, You're taking peoples opinions too seriously, screw what anyone thinks.

I think it's the WAY you phrased your question earlier. People read a self-absorbed kind of tone and that just annoyed them. I think if you had put it the way you worded it here, it would have been taken more sincere. I believe if people thought you were being sincere, you would have gotten more support--as you are getting from this question.

And I too am Latina, so I am NOT jealous believe me. That's just my opinion after reading both your questions.

they're commonly those who're truly hurting interior and they are projecting this discomfort onto others or they're commonly those who're incapable of feeling the discomfort of others. that is demanding to assert. it will be both. some bullies are those who've psychological issues so that can clarify their habit. commonly, bullies are those who're very afraid.

Just like yourself- alot of people have "issues". They think it's "fair game" to put others down (promoting THEMSELVES- in their twisted mental process). Try not to take their mental disfunction- personally. It's not YOU they're exposing- it's their OWN retardation. You CHOOSE how you feel about yourself- no one elses opinion should matter UNLESS it means something to YOU. BE yourself; LOVE yourself- & SELL yourself- as the really nice person I bet you ARE. And if you DO, others will buy into You- too! Good luck! :)

Maybe some of the women thought you were exactly the opposite and just thought you wanted a ego boost? It may have seemed that way. But, don't worry about it. They're stupid.
