I've used both Dreft and ALL- "baby" I found both to be equivelant in quality. Dreft is just more expensive.

It really depends on your personal taste. I don't like Dreft much, I think it smells a little odd, plus the cost is crazy. With my daughter I used All Baby detergent and I absolutely love it. A couple weeks ago I went to buy it, but wal-mart only had the huge-sized container and Target didn't have it. So I bought the Target brand of baby detergent, and it's not bad at all. But I would say for the price/scent/softness, that Baby All is my number 1 choice.

Hi!
I am a mother of two. You could buy Dreft or something like that, which I might have tried once or twice, but I ended up using regular detergent and never had a problem. Just maybe a dryer sheet for softness, unless your baby turns out to have really sensitive skin. We all get a little crazy at first with our babies, wanting everything to be perfect, but to maintain your sanity, you have to relax. For the most part, babies are tough little creatures!

I always used Dreft baby detergent, along with Snuggle fabric softener. After my baby was born, I also used Clorox 2 for helping with formula stains and such. Now that she is older, I use regular laundry detergent, but still use the Clorox and Snuggle. I get many compliments on how good her clothes smell!

I used Tide and double rinsed everything. My daugher never had a problem with the detergent. Tide does make a detergent that is free of allergens, its called Tide Free. You do not need to use a special detergent for babys clothing, diapers or blankets. Just make sure that you double rinse and don't over use the detergent and everything will be fine.

Dreft is really good. We use it on both our clothes and (though she's not here yet) our babies clothes. It smells almost like baby shampoo or baby wipes almost. It wont break your baby out as much (I have 5 neices and nephews who are allergic to every single kind of soaps including tide and nonscented) and smells fresh. My hubby also has to use it as he breaks out as well and this soap doesn't.
28 weeks with baby girl.

Dreft was good, but I also used All's brand of detergent. It's cheaper but it works just as well.
