God put two of every animal on the Earth at the time of creation. So the chicken came first and then the egg. God is good, he can do things like that.

Egg. The first chicken must have come out of an egg. However, whatever produced the egg wasn't necessarily a chicken, but an ancestor of it. The first chicken would have been a little genetically modified from it's parents, thus making it the chicken we know today.

Seriously speaking, the egg was the first entry
Dinosaurs laid the first eggs long long before Chickens walked the earth
And those eggs eventually after evolution hatched into chicken and other sorts of birds
