the reason why life in this country is so good is because we (for the most part) dont have to struggle, we dont have a horrible economy and we FIGHT for or freedom and privilege's . rising gas prices are causing a rise in the cost of living and its just going to get worse and worse. why should we stand by quietly and allow our way of life to be destroyed? what is your justification for tolerating gas price increases?

I tolerate it because I can afford to do so! It's easier to ignore the situation rather than be active and oppose it! I think many of us believe when the new administration takes hold the prices will come back down. Maybe we're just dreaming! I think the only alternative will be Mass Transit available for all at government expense! I bet if a politician were to make it so, he would get reelected again and again! Think of it, no vehicle purchases, no fuel bills, no fees or insurance costs, and the best part you don't have to hassle with traffic let the driver do the work!

Some people are one dimensional and higher gas prices are seen by them as good because it will force less gasoline use. Higher costs due to inflation just doesn't matter to them. These folks actually want governments to raise gasoline taxes!

In a free market, the best way to fight high prices is with your wallet by buying less or from a lower priced competitor. Lowering demand will lower prices. However, automobile use has become a necessity so is that possible? Despite what many seem to believe, oil companies are not gouging. Their profit margins are average at best because most of the incoming money has to be used to improve techniques and in finding more sources. Progress has stagnated in this area for years since prices were low due to high pumping rates in the Middle East. Without advances in techniques and finding new sources, supply will be less and prices will go up even more. The answer appears to be in forcing governments to LOWER gas taxes since 50% of the cost is in taxes.

yes, and i blame part of this on the Big Three not stepping up to the plate sooner and giving the United States a more fuel efficient vehicle.

Europe pays double for fuel but they have a better mass transit plus they seem to survive with using bicycles and mass transportation. But since you are in the United States we are be going to pay the higher prices and this will not improve until the demand for oil drops world wide.

The United States has been getting cheap fuel for so long that we will not easily give up our suv's and gas hog vehicles..so it is going to be expensive for everything we buy as everything is shipped by truck or rail...mostly truck...
pay me now or pay me later...we will all have to settle for less in the future...

through fact we are able to get coca-cola on sale for 20 cents a litre interior the states and milk is non-obligatory, and a litre of water is like 15 cents in case you get the keep sort. yet gasoline is like $3 a gallon, so i assume that's like seventy 9 cents a litre, that's strangely severe for us. yet we choose gasoline; public transportation is impractical different than yet interior the main city places, and turning out to be gasoline expenses ability that each and every thing else rises, through fact each and every thing must be transported from one place to the different. turning out to be gasoline expenses ability that utilities like electrical energy and water would be greater high priced, gasoline ties into each and every thing, a minimum of interior the states it does. i'm not so optimistic approximately Australia, yet while that's something love that's right here, milk and bread could be somewhat greater low priced if gasoline wasn't so high priced ...

you are crying because the price of gas doubled in the last 4 years. But you are not complaining about the number of people who are killed everyday to make sure that your gas tank is full when you feel like taking a drive. and you wonder why they hate us.
