A lifetime friend, because the love of your life may only be around for a short time, whereas the lifetime friend will be there through thick & thin, rain or shine, until the very end.

You should never have to choose....
Your friend (if they were a true friend) would always be there for you through thick and thin, even half way across teh world.
You boy (if he loved you) would never let you break it off with a friend ,because that would mean you'de be unhappy, and love isnt' about making the other person sad.

I would say put the two in a room, and let them work it out .Maybe they're the ones with the problem.May it be love are friendship, both are builded from trust. These two should know they can trust you, and you should know you can trust them. If you guys can trust each other, and communicate, not argue, there will be no problem. If there is no understaning, then someboby has to go. Good luck

Love of life. But a lifetime friend wouldn't ask me to choose, and if that friend really had problems with my love, then I would have to question if my love was really the right person.

It would depend on why you had to choose and WHO was making you choose.
In the past I would of chosen friends as they will always be there. But now that I have met my soul mate I'm not so sure
