Probably back when I was a baby - all I did was cry. *smiles*

For studying for tests and doing homework, I DON'T do all-nighters. I value sleep too much. Usually I go to bed and wake up an hour or two early and start working. This was back in High School. Now in college I have SO much more free time that sleep is not an issue anymore. (Except for annoying girls in my hall screaming until 6 in the morning - but I have earplugs.)

4 Days... I actually started to hallucinate. I was already up for 2 days, when I found out that my boyfriend's mother had to make a family emergency car trip from here in Pennsylvania to Virginia. I went to keep her company, I didn't drive there, but I did stay awake the whole time because I was so upset and I read the map while she drove. On the way back, I actually started imagining seeing giant sinkholes appear in front of the car and a head on a pole on the side of the road. It made me hate long car trips. I slept for 2 days when I got back.

About 48 hours. I work nightshift and they kept calling me in as they were low on staff. They gave me 1 and 2 hour breaks in between to try and get sleep. But i was so overtired i just couldnt sleep at all. By the end my face looked totally grey and i fell into an absolute crying mess by the time i got back home - and then passed out for 24 hours into slumber land ;)

I went three days, the third day I started to get mean. I was writing a philosophy journal with a couple friends, we drank coffee none stop. Somewhere in there I took a test and I don't remember it at all, I also don't remember going to a meeting where I am told I was very well spoken.
I do remember getting into a name calling competition with a professor who is around 70.

About 40 hours. I had two finals on two different days and then a red-eye flight. Even though I was almost dead I couldn't sleep on the plane. I slept for almost an entire day when I got home.

60 hours

I was illegally crossing boarders escaping from communist Bulgaria. My final destination was UN in Belgrade. I was interrogated by the Secret Police there for long time. I was kept awake for 60 hours or more.

Since then (1984) I live in Sydney
