I don't think that either of the options you give are accurate.
It is almost impossible to imagine the state of someone's mind before they kill themselves. No-one would really want to die if they had a chance to resolve their real or imagined problems and live happily.
Frantic arguments for against living or dying going around in your head and contemplating the various ways of killing your self sound tortuous and in no way an easy option.
Nor does fear of life and an inability to cope with your problems and therefore see death as the only escape route indicate a strong will.
Unless you have genuine mental health problems or you have absolutely no-one in the world who cares a toss for you I think suicide is the ultimate selfish act.
Whenever I hear of one I always think of the people who find the body - a parent finding a teenager hanging or a partner finding their loved one with their wrists slashed. Or the driver of the train that kills the jumper or the paramedics that have to deal with the body that's just fallen 14 storeys.
I'm glad this is just a theoretical question.
The easiest cry for help is -'help me!' - not swallowing a bottle of paracetamol and a bottle of whiskey.

Anybody who thinks suicide has anything to do with will or being "easy" has obviously never experienced the hell that is the black hole of depression. It is real, it is overwhelming, and it is not something you can will yourself out of or, as many say, "snap out of it." And anyone says that they have or knows someone who has was never really depressed in the first place. Suicidal thoughts require medical treatment; there may be many causes, but there is hope and there is help. The thoughts are there, to put it in simplest terms, because the brain is not sending or receiving it's own messages properly and is therefore "playing tricks" on you. Once balance is restored in the brain and the neurotransmitters are functioning properly, those thoughts will go away and you will feel better. That's why immediate medical treatment is so critical, those feelings will be perceived as real and be experienced as torturous by the person with the suicidal thoughts.

Well seeing as there are so many horrible ways to die not to mention ways to mess up a proper death and chances are higher that you could die "naturally " in a car wreck because of someone else bad decisions enjoy what little time you do have. Death is never an easy thing, neither is life, but we all manage to do both at some point of time. A strong will- Will make the most of the time they have left on earth.

I would not say that it is easy for someone to commit suicide but are they of sound mind when they do it, I think not.
If they realised the world of **** they leave behind and as a lot have said they would think twice in some respects.
I used to always be of the opinion if you commited suicide you were weak willed that was until my father done it and I though then what the hell has brought this on.
The ones left behind its not good he had a good life but what if its a young child that is heart breaking and hard to understand.

It shows the inability to deal with certain issues. A strong willed person is more likely to have a lot of 'fight' in them and therefore they would probably tackle the issue head on, rather than taking the option of avoiding it and ending their life. However I would not say that it is easy. Ending your life is a huge decision and requires significant effort.
In the case of terminally ill patients, it's a whole other kettle of fish. Yes it does again show their inability to deal with something, but why would any normal person want to go through such terrible suffering only to die a few months later anyway?

We have the chance to do anything we like in our life, learn, enjoyment, suffer pain and loss, but all are tests of the person you really are. It shouldn't get to the point of suicide because we are free as people and can choose what we do.
Its selfish that people do this because at any stage they can turn around and say that they are going to change, move away or tackle their problems face on.
That is more of a strong will than anything else.

Its a person not being able to face up to their problems and make an attempt to solve them. So I would say its a sign of a weak willed person. But sometimes the weak will is caused by extreme depression, overwhelming problems in their personal life, etc.

It's never the easy way out. Think of all the people who have admitted to comtemplating it and lacking the courage to carry it out. It depends entirely on personal circumstances.
The notorious murderer , Fred West, committed suicide because he saw that the rest of his life would be unbearable on the other hand some people do it because they are suffering from depression or have become a burden to the people they love.

Yeah a lot of people say is a sign of weakness and is just a stupid thing people do to run away from problems .. well there are things that people cant run away from (which is themselves) when a person carries a guilt in them they cant run away so they chose to end their life. This thing is really complicated to see if its weakness or stong will .. because many people do it because they have to even though they dont want to.

people think suicides the easy way out, an easy answer to solving their problems when in actuality the problems dont go away. theyre selfishly dumped on the people close to the victim.
sign of weakness and selfishness.
