Hi

I am in 18th week of pregnancy..
I dont know if I am feeling baby movements or not..

Can anyone please tell me how exactly do they feel?
Are they painful?
Can I feel them throught the day?

Now a days..I feel something pinching near my navel (just below it) or sometimes near right side of t he stomach..
But it is like pinching feeling...
But I feel something is happening in the stomach..may be the uterus is expanding.

how can i differentiate between baby movements and the uterus expansion..

thanks in advance.

They weren't really painful. They feel almost like butterfly wings almost, but a little different. The farther you get it feels like your stomach is being kicked in the belly (almost like a baby kicks lightly when they laugh but that is even a little less but closer to the way to explain it) but it doesn't hurt like a punch or kick. You can clearly see her kick though. I felt my babies fluttery movements at 13 weeks and am now 28 weeks. Uterus expansion is almost a sore feeling (not crampy exactly but almost like you've been in a workout for too long) and is quite a bit different from the fluttery movement. The fluttery movement is the best I can explain, but to me it didn't feel like gas, or anything like that. Congrats on your baby.

Don't worry you will feel them soon enough. Mine felt like gas to be honest, but now its more distinctive. She seems like she is playing soccer in there, night and day. I'm in my 32nd week with my first. It shouldn't be painful, but it can be. A friend of mine had very little amniotic fluid, so when the baby moved she felt it really well but it was very painful for her (the mother). Yes you will feel your bubba move throughout the day eventually. Basically at first you feel gentle movements early in pregnancy, then it gets to the full on movements and then they are so cramped in there that you will feel them sqirm around. The navel feeling could be the uterus growing, for thats where it should have reached by now. If your unsure of anything ask a doctor or midwife they are very helpful. Good luck and congratulations.

Your probably feeling your baby move. I don't think I felt uncomfortable because of the uterus expanding.
It will probably only hurt when the baby is bigger say 30 weeks and beyond, if your baby kicks underneath your ribs other then that it shouldn't hurt just feel very uncomfortable.
At this stage in your pregnancy your baby is almost to your belly button(just think of your belly button as the half way mark through your pregnancy) 20 more weeks your baby is just under your ribs. So I think this is your baby being very active, you wont believe it until you go for your next ultrasound you'll see how much your baby is moving around inside of you(somersault's)
That's what you probably feel is your baby kicking you.
Hope that this helps some!

I'm 17 weeks and I feel anything from "a fish swimming in my stomach" to "butterflies." They feel weird not painful, not yet anyway.

The movements don't start to get painful until later on when the baby starts to run out of stretching room and uses a kidney, ovary or your bladder for target practice.

You can feel them throughout the day whenever the baby is active, but they are more noticeable if you are sitting still or getting ready to go to bed.

It kind of feels like gas bubbles moving through your somach. That's what I mistook them for during both pregnancies. If you're feeling pinching, it may be expansion, or your ligaments pulling a little. The baby moving shouldn't be painful at all. I'm 20 weeks... and I'm feeling them right now. Congrats!

Chances are it is the baby moving. It feels like a flutter most of the time when they are that small. The uterus is designed to expand, I doubt you can feel it. The first time I felt my daughter move I felt two tiny kicks near my lower back and turned around and wondered who tapped my butt. We all got a good laugh at that one.

when i first felt my son move, it felt like prickles..like little pokes all inside my belly. That was at around 14 weeks. With my daughter, I just felt her flipping and turning, like fish swimming in my belly at around 14 weeks. You should feel them throught the day, night, when you're trying to sleep..LOL remember, babies don't know what time of day it is. Uterus expansion comes near your pelvic bones more. Those can hurt a bit. hope this helps!

confident m'am! that's precisely how I defined it to my physician and he pronounced is what "flutters". i'm skinny, so I felt my flutters at sixteen weeks. i would be 19 weeks in 2 days and that i've got faith rolls, and if I pass away my hand long sufficient in my decrease abdomen and am fortunate, i will sense somewhat kick or punch. :) As you, have not felt the reliable movements or kicks yet yet very excited to get there! stable success!

well im 20 weeks and started to feel my boy around 17 weeks. it feels like gas bubbles, sometimes it feels like a quicks knock or jump in there, and other times it can feel more like butterflies against the inside of your stomache, or even like a fish swimming in there. im sure you are feeling it just takes a wile to relize, no that is not gas, and it is the baby. once you begin to feel it everyday, youll no the difference. for me sometimes it feels a little uncomfterable, because my baby is always so active, everyultra sound he never sits still for measurements, so when hes streching out, you feel it on your urterus, but its not painful.. your probably feeling it, wait until the baby gets the hiccups!!! now that feels funny!!!!!

You will know when you feel the flutter in your lower belly.
If you have pain in the right side you might have gas or you might have appendix infection.
It the pain gets worse, if you have a fever, if you can't lay down without your knees up or you can't walk because of the pain, you need to go to the ER or to the doctor.
Walk around for a bit and if it is gas, it will go away.
