I just read an article about plastic containers and how they tend to give off substances if food touches them.
Where can I read more on that?
Lists of plastics that are dangerous, where they are used, what is made from them, what their abbreviations are, etc.?

One big concern is with pthalates which are compounds added to plastics to soften them. Some research has suggested that these are then able to pass into the liquid and be consumed. Some of these compounds also are structually similar to compounds found naturally in our bodies and may mimic or interfere with them. There are many other factors such as exposure time between liquid and plastic, action of UV/sunlight, chemical composition of liquid stored eg. pH and all that.

Complicated stuff but why drink bottled water in the first place?
