Ive been told gourami's are not good community fish but I have my pink kissing gourami in the tank with danios and he doesnt bother them. I was just wondering if my gourami likes to be alone or would like the company of more gourami's.

As DAGIM said, male gouramis can be a bit hostile towards each other. Also Kissing gourami are not the most peaceful of fish to begin with. Couple that with the fact that they get much larger than the dwarf and it spells bad news for the dwarf. I wouldn't put them together personally.

I have 2 pink kissing gouramis and one dwarf sunset gourami in the same tank w/ some tetras and they have been just fine together for many months now.

* I wanted to add to my answer that yes kissing gouramis do get much larger than dwarf gouramis and many other types of aquarium fish reaching up to 10-12 inches during maturity and usually have pretty long life spans (15-20 years) if indeed kept properly and not stunted by being left in a small tank throughout their growth. My 2 kissing gouramis (1m 1f) are currently in a 10 gal but they are very young still. I plan on moving them to my 38 gal in the near future as they mature along with my dwarf gourami (who I plan to get a mate for as well) who have never had any problems with the kissers so far. The dwarfs tend to be a bit shy and often keep to themselves and if the kissers needs are met I think they will still leave the dwarf alone. It is something to observe over time and if my kissers start to have a problem w/ the dwarf(s) I will certainly seperate them. This is one advantage to having several freshwater tanks with the same water parameters. I hear of many people keeping only gourami community tanks succesfully though you must consider every type thouroughly first (max. growth size/aggression levels) as well as the size of your tank. Kissers at a young age are much milder in temperament than many other gouramis though that can change over time. It is wise to plan for the future however and yes, it would be a good idea to look into larger types of community fish or gouramis if you want to give yours company.

You always must keep in mind the full size of a fish. Kissing Gourami's can reach as large as a foot long if they're kept properly (which is why we never see them this big) and are best kept with larger fish in large tanks. They also get more aggressive when they're bigger. I have no doubt it would work at first, but it's a question of how long you keep your fish and how well you like to take care of them as well.

he'd be just fine with another gourami. I believe that walmart houses them both dwarf and kissing gourami's in the same tanks and they are just fine. Gourami's arn't community fish but I believe because danios are small schooling fish they are alright with them. Danio's get along with pretty much anything that doesnt try to eat them.

Gouramis, especially males, can be aggressive towards each other. The male dwarf seems more sensitive and the kissing gouramis are a bit wilder.

Kissing gouramis tend to attack all flat surfaces (including each other!)

Gouramis are usually unpredictable and depends on the fish.

DO NOT RELY ON WHAT YOU SEE AT WALMART! Walmart knows NOTHING about fish. In fact, they ABUSE their fish by putting incompatible fish together, bad living conditions, having people working there that know nothing about fish except how to net them out.
