I've noticed I seem to be doing that quite alot lately...I'll really like a question enough to give it a star but I don't have an answer for it at all. I'm beginning to wonder if this is a phase.
Does anyone else do this and if you do, how often do you do this ?

I do it too. They're usually interesting questions that I don't know how to answer but I'm curious what others have to say about it.

Yes, I do that whenever I think that the question was good, but am not able to give it an answer that I think would help to answer the question.
I'll also star a question that's already had an answer chosen for it and that's something that I do fairly often.

Quite a few times. Sometimes the question already has a good answer, but still deserves a star, other times I actually don't know the answers, but liked the question (I usually then start searching for the correct answer).
It does not happen so much on P&S but in other categories. . .

I starred this question and I sure am answering it! Yeah, I starred a few questions before that I thought were interesting but didn't answer them.

I do that all the time , i will see a question and either think it is good or just funny, but dont have time to answer or just plain dont have an answer, but want to give it a star just for the hell of it !!!!! :0)

I do from time to time. usually it's when I like the question, and it's already been answered properly. sometimes I will also just give the answers I like a thumbs up without answering the question too.

I've done it before...but more so because a few people have answered the same way I would have. I think it's pointless to add a seventh answer thats the same as the others
