How did Bush deceive Clinton-co before he was even president?

Bush did nothing wrong but not defend himself.

The thing here is Republicans lie and that fits their agenda in the press. Anything that they can use to support this will be doctored as much as it is needed.

Good question.
It's high time anyone with any intelligence and a minimal memory put the "George Bush lied" rhetoric to rest.
At the time, everyone, including Saddam's own troops, believed he had WMDs.
After the events of 9/11 - given Saddam's dismal performance in complying with UN weapons' inspectors and the history of his chemical arsenals discovered and destroyed by the UN inspectors - could anyone with any authority risk the possible future consequences of assuming that he didn't still possess WMDs?
Hindsight is always great - and constantly used to criticize events after the fact - but, unfortunately, it isn't available at the time the tough decisions are made.
Both sides of the isle botched this one - but political posturing has made it Bush's war. American's may or may not have a short memory - but either way, it's damn sure not as short as the liberals would like to think.

Reasonable point, Sonny, but I don't think anyone is saying that the folks in the Bush Admin were the only ones who believed that Saddam had WMDs, but they were the only ones who went to war on it and as early as December 2002, various news agencies were beginning to have doubts based on their research, which means the Bush Admin should have had doubts.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Bush Admin's biggest mistake has been the ongoing incompetence with which they've managed this war. If we had gone into Iraq in 2003 with 350,000-500,000 troops the war would have been over and any insurgency crushed into submission within 6 months - 1 year tops. But did he ask the country to enlist when many would have done so? NO! He told us to go shopping! DUMB!

Combine 350K troops with intelligent diplomacy (ala Teddy Roosevelt's "speak softly and carry a big stick") and we have a stable Iraq, a stable mid-east and declining recruiting numbers for Al Qaeda.

Had Bush done everything I just described he goes down in history as Reagan's equal and the Democrats don't win any seats in the Nov 2006 election. PLUS, we don't have the trillion dollar deficit and skyrocketing gas prices because we have access to their oil, a stable mid-east and a healthier economy. Instead, the Dems will be taking over in 2008, which of course, I don't mind nearly as much as you do.

His "cowboy diplomacy" and "go-it-alone" foreign policy have completely undermined his efforts and our nation. Ronald Reagan would NEVER have been so sloppy and foolish. No sir, not the man who brought down the Soviet Union.

iraq was always suspected of having those weapons.
the un and us pushed for more inspections.
there was no proff which is why no one got rash and decleared a war during the clinton administration.
I have a great deal of respect for Edwards because he apoligized for voting for the war due to the fact there were no weapons and it is a disater

Talk is all Clinton did. It is called political posturing, done for Saddam's and the UN's benefit. There is a huge difference between that and invading a country with little international support.

George and Co. obviously figured Hussein had WMDs; as is the cliche, we have the receipts.

Remnants of when Saddam was an ally and we actually supplied him arms. How quickly we forget.
