I am not going to say the usual garbage... honesty, etc.
I think a sense of reality is the most important. One has to be realistic in their expectations going in to a relationship. We are all just flesh and blood, and that means we are all capable of amazing love & devotion...but at the same time, we do stupid things.
Also, a good sense of self is important. I'm not talking about being egotistical, I mean that you can't truly be comfortable & love someone else until you are comfortable in your own skin.
Just a random thought...

Honesty & Trust - Absolutely!
Honesty is the greatest compliment and vestment one can give another and is where trust is formed and dependent on. All things good in a relationship depend on Honesty when sown, and the benefit reaped and produced is the trust.
Love, kindness, acceptance, harmony, communication, sharing, loyalty, charity, happiness, companionship, problem-solving, comfort, security, stability, chemistry, longevity.................all,..........depend on sound Honesty and it's reciprocation of the same. It is the foundation of all good in a relationship.......any relationship. Even if it's friendship, familial, or even a working relationship.
And, once honesty has been violated .....all things good and needed for a successful relationship can never be the same. And honesty lost, via lies, dishonesty, and the loss of "trust" which is the fruit of honesty,......the foundation has been damaged never to be able to support all the good things I listed.
So, answer given.........HONESTY is the greatest attribute! IMOHO!!
