Are you insane???!!!
If you buy your own place or are lucky enough to become chef at some top-notch place (sure ain't happening right out of school)... you have a future...
Otherwise... (and even then) You'll be stuck sweating in some hot, greasy kitchen working long, irregular hours with a bunch of criminals and people who don't speak English... making little more than they do...
You're going to pay to go to school for that??? Believe me... There are easier ways to earn a dollar. If you're going to pay for training in something... Why not pick just about anything else???

Right now, Napa Valley is begging for educated pastry chefs. And it pays really well too.
(I was a chef, but never took pastry, dangit.)

Which do you like the best. Seems like the people who get the most attention are the chefs. You decide.

Beyond the money situation, what it really comes down to is which one do you enjoy more. Either one you choose you will be stuck doing for the rest of your life (hypothetically). Which one can you live with?
