I think they have the best chance of recent teams. Their offense is gives opponents too many mismatches to gameplan against. If you double Moss, you leave Stallworth in single coverage, and vice versa. If you dont double any, you got Welker against a safety and Ben Watson Size against a safety or speed against a LB. Their defense was second in the NFL last year, and has only gotten stronger.

No, they won't go 16-0 and injuries will play no part in it. It's just a nearly impossible task. In the history of the NFL only one team has every gone undefeated, the 1972 Dolphins, and that was with a 14 game season rather than a 16 game season. They actually finished 17-0 including the post season. There is too much parity in the NFL now for one team to dominate an entire season like that. Even the very best teams end up losing 2 or 3 games each season and that's what the Patriots will do this year.

The Pats won't go 16-0 but neither will ANY team from the AFC, the AFC is just too good.
Remember that all though some teams are good or even great on any given Sunday, any team in the NFL can beat any other team.
The only reason an NFC would have a shot at going undefeated is due to the weaker schedule. The Pats will be playing the best teams in the league, just take a look at the schedule. They will most likely go 12-4 or 13-3 at best and beleive me that is a compliment with the level of talent they will be facing.

No team has ever gone 16-0. The '72 Dolphins went 14-0, as the league inducted the 16 game schedule during the '78 season. While the Pats may go 16-0, it's highly improbable.

No not 16-0. They've added two deep threat wide receivers (still have no middle threat), there defense is slightly better, but it is almost impossible to go undefeated in the NFL. Also they play in the AFC. They're schedule has about 7 losable games (doesnt mean they are going to lose them, but it's possible). I think the Patriots will go 12-4, but 16-0 seems a little ridiculous right now.

I would doubt it. All most every superbowl winning team has a game on that year's schedule that they "should have won" (like Indy's loss to Houston last year, 2000 Ravens loss to Pittsburgh, 85 Bears loss to Dolphins), the only exception is the 1972 Dolphins.
I don't think the Patriots will be any different this year, especially since they usually seem prone to having a letdown in Miami fairly often.
Secondly suppouse they wrap up the first seed going undefeated with a couple of games left to play. In that scenario I think the Patriots would be a bit more likely to play conservatively, maybe to the point where Brady doesn't play the entire game if Belechik decides he doesn't want to risk his starting QB in a game that won't affect the Pats playoff positioning.

No as competitive as the AFC is no one will go 16-0 next season. For one they always seem to struggle against the Dolphins and will even more so now that they have Joey Porter. I can't foresee things like season ending injuries but I bet Bruschi and Harrison will sit out a few games. I also bet Stallworth will miss some games due to hamstring issues. He's known for those.

No, I don't think so. Maybe 12-4 or 13-3, but 16-0 is a huge stretch. Plus their record of course will depend if they don't suffer any significant injuries.
A Ravens fan!

You guys sure are jumping the gun, without even seeing the Pats play with all their new additions. They will not go 16-0 because if they are undefeated when they clinch a playoff spot a smart coach would bench his starters. And it wont happen because of their schedule. They are going to lose to the Jets at least once and they will lose to Baltimore.

Not a chance New Orleans has a better shot than they do of going 16-0.
