This is a very superficial cultural norm.
Margaret Mead, during her researches in New Guinea, found a wide variation in concepts of masculinity and femininity from one tribe to another.
In many cultures, women are quiet and stoic.
Men's "stoicism" is also a relatively new behavior, too, and some people think it's an offshoot of the English public school ideal of showing no tears or emotion. In the ancient world, it was typical and accepted for men to weep openly when they lost competitions, or on the battlefield.

I have found that men are just as emotional as women however, you are right with what you said about men not being able to express it openly. Good question. I liked it.

As with most questions regarding behavior, I believe both nature and nurture play a part. Sure, women are socialized from a young age to act in such and such a way by their role models, but I know studies have been done that indicate that *most* women are more prone to emotion. They're also more prone to communicate. Tactility is also a female characteristic. That doesn't mean you as a woman need to reinforce stereotypes, but don't feel bad if you inadvertently do.

My friend it is not like that in fact Women are always much more emotional than men.
Always their emotions are much more truthful, honest & sincere than men. They are always blackmailed by men emotionally for the lust of Sex & are left behind alone with kids & their hurt emotions.
They always suffered emotionally for the sake of their children till death.
