Ok, don't rinse with cold water. That stings the face and gets more blood rushing, which will only make your face redder. Drinking plenty of water is good for you, but I don't think it will help the redness. And about the makeup, it really depends on which kind of makeup you use. I don't recommend wearing liquid makeup anytime anywhere especially MAC. My favorite foundation is Covergirl pressed powder. It comes in tons of different shades, so you can definitely find a shade that fits. I have slight redness on my T-zone area because of acne, and the Covergirl pressed powder completely covers everything. You can get this foundation from Target, Walmart, or any other drugstores for only $4!!!! Make sure you get the one that comes in a round compact mirror with a flat, round, white applicator.

It helps mine . Before I got that I made a strong cup of jasmine green tea and put it in one of those spray bottles you can buy and stored it in the fridge.
A face mask made of oats cantalope green tea and plain yogurt can help.
Certain skins have a genetic tendency to be flushed like celtic skin . I wish I had more advice for you .
Good luck
