http://www.emsisoft.com Out of Austria, this software has a good scanner for rogue dialers, keyloggers, malware, spyware, trace spyware and rogue cookies. Download their free version.
http://www.lavasoft.com Download their free AdAware Se Personal. They are out of Sweden, and have been around since computers became commercial.
I use all of the above.

For years I have been using Spybot: Search & Destroy, and I haven't had any malware problems ever since.
Not only is it the best Anti-spyware I have ever used, but it is also Free.
To download: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html
Once downloaded:
- Install
- [Update] (choose a server to your preference)
- [Immunize] (blocks spyware when you surf the web)
- [Scan] your system, then [Fix Problems] to remove the detected malwares.

spyware doctor offers real time protection
windows defender is good too
i recommend having two atispyware because sometimes one cant find all of the spyware and since it cant get find and delete all the spyware try downloading HiJack This also

there is a software name fix-it utilities which is now in ver 7. if u take fix-it utilities 4.0 it is available free it is Ontrack Fix-it utilities then. this is a free spyware removal. but for good and update performance u need to get a latest spyware removal like
norton or trend micro or kaspersky.

One of the best is spybot search & destroy I run it weekly to keep my PC free of spyware. Also there is ccleaner which has alot of extra options but still every easy tp use I have both.
Your best bet is to go to cnet .com and you will find tons of free programs with advice & recommendations that you can choose from that will keep you PC safe and up to date .
