The only way its ever going to end is if you tell him, what you just typed....He has to know that hes doing this to you, and tell him its not okay...if you get fired then you can do better.

I have had this happen to me in the past and I am sure that it will never happen to me again. I forced myself to get as good as I possibly could at my job. I am more technically proficient than my boss or any other manager in the building. It was hard work and it took a long time. I still continue to work for the same manager. With my knowledge and proficiency I gained a reputation within my department. People now know the quality of work that I do.

I was always told that 2 wrongs don't make it right, and I've also been in the same position you are in and it will come back to bite him in the butt one day. He will need your help one day and it will be in a situation where he's in front of whoever he's trying to impress and when he can't fix it, you do it. Then someone will notice whose been fixing other problems that he has taken credit for. But to answer your question "do you help him?" YES you will see that it will soon benefit you and not him.

The problem that you are going to get into is if you refuse to something he asks you it could be consider insubordination.
This is a very common problem in the workplace. Unfortunately there are people that you work for that are so insecure that they have to take credit for all the good things and usually blame others for any mistakes. You need to protect yourself and make sure you keep notes. Jot down what he asks you to do with dates and things and document the results and what he does.
Depending on your company there should be a way for you to speak to his supervisor if you have grounds to do so and that's why you need to have all your facts straight.
You also might negotiate with him next time he asks you for something, maybe you could ask for something in writing from him acknowledging your hard work or shared credit.

I wouldn't. I might talk to HR dept and lodge an informal complaint.
some people try to get ahead by putting others down, and that is just life in the big city.
