I believe it is the "right" ear pierced that would indicate a man is gay. The irony is that many men who are straight these days, pierce both ears- and when I was growing up, that was unheard of - and you were sure to be thought of as gay if you did something like that. People would even think that something was wrong with you and you may even have been referred for therapy. Times change though. Another interesting fact; back in Roman times, if you wore a pierced earring- it meant that you were someone's slave

Back in the 80s and early 90s it was the right ear. To be safe, just pierce both.

You are not judged for that either way anymore. Doing both is probably more "in" these days though. But you're safe doing either one. Have fun with it . . . piercings are addicting! :)
