I dont really like history but its filled with movements like womens rights and such. Well I'm in favor of a Non-human Animal Rights movement. humans are so annoying and think they'r all that just because we have more brain power (how do we even know that we could just be so stupid that we dont even realize how smart other animals are!) So back to the topic. I'm tiered of humans poor treatment of other animals! TIME FOR A NEW MOVEMENT SAYS I, WHO'S WITH ME!?!?!?!??!

April, I totally agree with you (but you know that, we've talked about it a billion times). Could all the people who posted about how "animals do not have rights" just take a moment to consider how ridiculous that is? Non-human animals do not posses human intelligence. Ok. So that makes their lives unimportant? That blatant disregard for life, be it human or otherwise, is what contributes to many issues in human society. Why is it more honorable to donate time and money to human rights, when it is humans themselves who are their own worst enemy!? Animals are an innocent party who merely watch from the sidelines as humans destroy themselves. And yet it seems that people are more interested in protecting their precious egos than they are in preserving innocent life. So, yeah, I'll join your movement April.
Oh and by the way, just because someone supports animal rights doesn't automatically make them an extremist. Stop assuming we're all in PETA!

Oh, lord, you're not Peta Pro, are you? If you are, go away. You've already done enough damage.
I actually support animal rights more than you will ever know. I answered the way I did because there was a young woman here a few weeks ago who was so rude, aggressive, and shrill that I suspect she was a plant for the meat-producing industry.
BTW, just for the record, if you don't support PETA you can't call yourself an animal rights activist. I dare you to go to their website and find out what they're really about.

Animals do not have rights. They act on instinct, attempting to avoid falling prey to stronger animals. In the animal kingdom, might makes right. Human beings, because they are thinking creatures, have evolved the concept of rights based on their formulation of a political society. Rights are derived from those inherent rights which boil down to the life, liberty and the pursuit and protection of private property philosophy. The closest we come to animal rights is our collective belief that it is wrong to be cruel to them. This is a rule that has evolved from society and does not exist in nature. Therefore, the concept of animal rights has no basis in nature and is simply the fantasy of some extremist wing nuts. People who argue that animals have rights base their inane arguments on emotion and not logic. I doubt that they even understand the concept of rights. Although they might not be extremists in their own minds, they are wingnuts none the less.

People like you are what's wrong with this world.
Spending so much time, money and resourses on animals, than could be used for the betterment of humanity.
Plus, animals have been bred and changed by humans for humans. If we didn't take care of them, and yes, use them, they would be worse off.
