I love the name Ethan. William's nice, too. Personally, I loathe the new 'unique' names. Give me a Vincent, Richard and Nathaniel any day.
American?.
Andrew - Greek.
Joshua - Hebrew.
Ethan - Hebrew.
William - English.
Patrick - English.

I wish you were having a baby because those are neater names than anyone else on here has put out. Some of their names are so "out of it". I like all of yours--William and Patrick being my least favorite, but Andrew, Joshua & Ethan are real winners.

Those are all pretty classic names.. I like Andrew or Joshua but they sound like little boy's names (they always sound young even on older guys)...My son's name is Leaton.. I have always been one to pick strange names that noone has heard of.. lol

I like all of those.
For your own, don't get TOO unique or original. Remember that other kids tease.
I have always hated my name, and hated my parents for being so mean as to name me what they did.
