In my 30 years of US Government employement we used both Mustang and Stearns equipment. I think either one is as good as the other.

I am a distributer in Canada and we sell a lot of Stearns and a small company in BC called Force 6 to Fire Fighters and police for ice water rescue. Stearns can offer you what ever you want and Force 6 makes the best rescue vest on the market. You can order from their websites aswell. Not trying to be a pusher just telling you what I have experience with.

I'll endorse what others have said about Mustang, Stearns and Force 6....in self inflating life vests with built in safety harnesses, Crewsaver from www.lanfallnavigation.com is what I carry on my own boat
