The only downside I could think of is poor addicts who want a fix but can't buy some smokes. However, this may be a good thing to some people. I want a complete negative characteristic of cigarette taxes. It could be economic related or personal. Anyone got some?

If they jack the prices up high enough on an addictive substance people will have to steal to afford them. I do not believe the lies about higher health care costs because of smoking. Die younger = less costs vs years spent in a nursing home with good lings and a failing body and mind.

through fact the taxation is on tobacco and an digital cigarette isn't a tobacco product i won't see how that's taxed. so a great way as i'm conscious the digital cigarettes create a flavoured vapour and are utilized at the same time with nicotine patches. i'm optimistic customs and excise could have concept-approximately that by using now.

It's bull in my opinion there are some politicians who work to empose the tax b/c as the price increases less people are willing to buy (supply vs. demand) while others say we need to tax smokes to help pay for the increased medical costs that smoking can lead to.

They're both bs in my opinion, if smokes are bad for you they should not be allowed to be sold and I doubt that medical costs increase from smoking b/c you die at a younger age. Additionally and adict will pay any price to get their fix.
