Three black holes--more energy, more angular momentum, more radiation, more chaotic behavior.

Yes a black hole has a center of mass.

One of the black holes invariably will eat the others. It would create a supermassive black hole. It is possible for three to merge into one, the effect would be similar as two colliding. The merger would be a cataclysmic event, second only to the Big Bang in the amount of energy it produces.

Astronomers have theorized that coupled black holes exist, and that black holes sometimes merge and form supermassive black holes, the new studies provides further evidence that this in fact occurs. In recent years, astronomers have discovered that every large galaxy in the present day universe likely has a supermassive black hole. The Milky Way's own supermassive black hole has swallowed as much material as four million suns. The biggest galaxies contain black holes that have swallowed many billions of stars worth of material.

And yes, black holes do have a center of mass. Such a merger would definately increase the mass of the black hole as well as expand the event horizon.

kapow!

I would naively assume that the masses will add to create a larger black hole. Since the gravity will be stronger, I would expect the event horizon to expand.

From the perspective of the universe, I'd say that a black hole has a center of mass since orbiting bodies would move in a way consistent with that assumption.

The 3 would definitely merge together to make 1 big one. The event horizon would expand.

i do not study merging, besides the indisputable fact that the idea of them orbiting one yet another for a even as is extra a probability as we communicate. The galaxy andromeda really has 2 great huge black holes orbiting one yet another on the middle of the galaxy, indicating andromeda has swallowed yet another galaxy, black hollow and each little thing. Milky way galaxy is next through ways.
