there was this once long time ago, I was taking a couple classes in the summertime at a little college in eastern New Mexico ... I had long hair ... the town had cowboys ... back in those days, there tended to be a bit of random redneck behaviour off in isolated settings
late at night driving a beat up station wagon on loan for the summer
a pickup truck was chasing me and I was trying to get to an area where there were witnesses so that this "threat-display" would back off.
I was approaching the grain-elevators alongside railroad tracks and I saw the flashing red lights and heard the dinging bells announcing an oncoming train
there was no crossing guard rails here since this was not a well travelled area, just flashing lights and the bells
I decided that I *really* needed to get away from the cowboys and started up the small hill where the tracks were .. ignoring the warning lights
then a slow-moving locomive emerged from behind the grain elevatos and I had an instant of wondering what to do ....
kinda scared, I pushed down on the gas ... and a sluggish response from the old car ... and I could see the rotatting headlight on the train and I felt like it was going to hit me maybe, but it was rolling real slow .... and I got over the tracks MUCH to my relief
and thought "well at least the r4ednecks won't try to beat the train ..."
but looking in the rear-view mirror, I saw a pair of heaadflights come up into view ... and then TILT up and slide off to the left .. sooo sloooowwww ...
but it really happened that way, just like in the cartoons.
(they didn't really getr hurt, just wasted theeir truck)
"good ol' boys" hit by a slow moving train at midnight while out on a "whup-***" mission
.......
I stop at rail-crossings if there's any doubt nowadays; I've already had my lucky break and don't want to push it.
Different times, different places; it was a weird summer

From the point you are born to the point you die, you are alone.I know this is cliche, but think about it for a second.Think about life as a road.On this road, you meet people who hang around you for a while and they go away.Until you die, this repeats. So get used to being alone and learn how to have fun alone.Be self-centered.Every other person is just there to amuse you for a while. So if you are sad someone has dumped you or doesn't want to talk to you anymore, think of it as if their time is over.If somebody consciously tries to bring you down though, go and shut their mouths.Don't let them get popular off of you.Good day.

I stop. It's not worth it, even if the risk isn't that big, and I'm never in a hurry. I just sit back and turn up the radio.
