My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion and I
kept staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sat alone at a nearby table.
My wife asked, "Do you know her?"
"Yes," I sighed, "She's my old girlfriend. I understand she took to
drinking right after we split up those many years ago and she hasn't been sober since."
"My God!" said my wife. "Who would think a person could go on
celebrating that long?"

Well I'm a bit confused because your avatar is a woman...
But I would be pissed if my girlfriend/wife said that to me. I don't tolerate that stuff, wife/married or what. I once had a very happy relationship with my girlfriend, and one day some guy asked her out, and she said 'maybe'. As soon as I heard about it from my trusty friend Derrick, I broke up with her. And even though he hated her he didn't make it up because she confessed to it. It sucked because I loved her and we had so much fun together.. but that was her choice to say 'maybe'.
