Why would we need a draft ?

The military is meeting its recruitment goals 100%.

Or do you think Congress should increase the size of the Military enough, so that a draft would be needed to fill the manning levels ?

You do understand, the draft only drafts people if volunteers aren't enough to fill the Congressionaly mandated manning levels of the Military. ?

I have no problem, with congress increasing the size of the Military another 70,000 people.

.
Most people don't realise that in the last 3 years, congress has already increased the size of the military by 70,000 people.

Thats why major combat divisions have increased in size from 3 brigades to 4 brigades.

Not all divisions have finished the increase and training yet, but some, like the 101st Airborne Division have.

Then we would have bleeding heart liberals trying to defend us. Actually only the ones that didn't skip the Country. Save the fighting for the real men and women.
God Bless America our Troops and Commander in Chief !!!

Since this war is not for MY country, I say no draft. And if the president does start one, he should have to demonstrate doing "civic duty" by sending his daughters to the front line. And no more college exemptions. Make it a level, fair field for everyone.

So far, none of those responsible for meeting their quotas have asked for a draft. They seem to prefer to have troops who want to be there. If & when they say otherwise, we can discuss it. I guarantee that there will be no draft before the 08 election.

WAIT TILL THEY RETURN AND SPEAK THEIR MINDS,
The only losers that want a non volunteer military is the Dem's that want to pull out because they know if punks get drafted they'll protest publicly instead of just talking crap at Y/A.
