the most points scored in that game

for example if Iverson scores 35 points, Anthony scores 28, Duncan scores 25, and parker scores 22

ESPN Would say Iverson had a game high of 35 points since that was the most points scored in that game

same applies for a game high in rebounds, assists, blocks, or whatever

They meant that a specific player recorded the highest number in any stat in that particular game. This could mean he had the most points, or most rebounds, or most assists, or most blocked shots, or even the most turnovers among players who played in that specific game.
