Turbo system, for $3000 you will have more HP, torque, and performance than the V-8 swap, not to mention you keep all your factory wiring, no downtime for the swap, and it will bolt in in about 10-12 hours depending on which kit you get. If you do the V-8 swap you are looking at the motor, about $2000, a engine harness $700, An ECU $300, axles $300, motor mounts $400, plus all the issues of making it run correctly. The V-8 will give you about 60 more HP and 80 ft lbs of torque. The turbo will give you close to 150 more HP and 100-130 ft lbs of torque.

A LS2! don't throw away your money on that 3.8. The best use for it is a boat anchor. If you wanna go fast go with the LS2,or trade your Camarobird in on a sporty 4 cyl, like a Honda s2000(240hp w/ a 6 speed)or a GXP solstice(240 hpand a 5 speed

Probably a V8. If you're lucky you should be able to get a used engine and transmission to drop into your camaro for a decent price.
Then you also have much more room to upgrade later.
