The Democrat Congress can't muster enough votes to end the war, so in the event the election in 08 goes against the Republican Party, let a Democrat President do it.

Your question assumes that running away again is what we need to do. What the president should do is stick to what he believes is best for the country. If the next president wants to do something different he can. Maybe we will fight the war on terror on our own soil.

Well, I sure as heck would hate to have to wait until Jan of 2009 before a Democratic President would stop this action in Iraq! Think of all the young persons that would be dead or wounded by then! The Republicans have got to come around & join with the Democrats in stopping this crime against our youth. We have nothing to gain by staying until a Democrat takes office, if indeed this is what happens.

No reason why not.

Lyndon Johnson (Democrat) left it to Richard Nixon (Republican) to clean up the mess he left in the war against Vietnamese independence.

However, the defects of LBJ and GWB are very different. LBJ was very smart and cunning but impossibly vain. GWB is stupid, stubborn, and talks to God more than Joan of Arc did.

The war needs to end win it's won. Doesn't matter who's in power.
