A gift of that sort would drive a person completely mad, if it were about hearing every little thing indiscriminately, no matter who or where. If it were a gift of being able to tune in at will to what a specific person were thinking, it could be useful in negotiations and things like that, but also be misused as an invasion of privacy, and an undue advantage over someone else that isn't able to do likewise....not to mention the risk of overhearing something you really wish you hadn't.....

No, i would not. although i would very much love to hear what people are thinking, the human mind is the one secret sanctum left on this earth, that for the most part, is unable to be invaded by an outside source. And plus, i wouldn't want anyone to know what i was thinking, and I'm sure the feeling is mutual.

No, I would not.

There is a story (can't remember what it was called now) about a man who was granted the ability to read the minds of everyone around him. He invited his friend over, eager to test it out... only to discover that his friend actually though he was annoying and foolish. He went on to find out that everyone around him had a very low opinion of him.

I wouldn't want to know that sort of thing.

Also, there are some thoughts I would just not want to hear. "Too much info" types of things. You know, some thoughts just weren't meant to be heard.

Yes but only if I can tune out other peoples thoughts when I want to. I'd love to know what people really think of me as even when they tell me or give me compliments I don't always believe them.

Yes, it would be cool to know what people were thinking, but at the same time I would probably get my feelings hurt alot because I would know what they were thinking of me! I would rather take a gift offering the knowledge of what animals were thinking...

once I get over the shock of it

and maybe can filter out who I wanted to hear

It could be very fun and profitable.

But I wouldn't go around telling everyone either

then I would be some sort of freak

Hel, no! I have a tough enough time keeping my own thoughts in order, much less trying to figure out and filter what is me vs. what is someone else's thoughts.

I dont think I could handle it. Maybe at first it would be really cool, but after a while I'd rather not know. I'm too sensitive! LOL.
