My favorite is phidippus audax.

I love them, especially the thorn spider (Gasteracantha sp, order araneae). Jumping spider are one of the cutest spider I've ever seen on the source of wikipedia.

I know what spiders are good for, and I respect their place in the world, but they terrify me. Especially the nervous little jumpy ones like Phidippus.

A long time ago I had a Phidippus taped up in a petri dish so I could take a look at those irridenscent appendages. A petri dish is a big place to chase one of those little guys around, so it took me a while to get the dish in the right spot under the dissecting scope. What was I thinking? It was HUGE at 40X. Gives me chills this many years later.

And I'll pick up a snake any day.

Yes, because they help our ecosystem by eating bugs so the bugs do not attack the Earth.

I'm not crazy about them but the attack bugs before they attack earth and that is why i let them Be
