One time I got gum all over my dyer so I used WD40. Try WD40 on a litte spot of the blanket to make sure it will not fade.

anything oil based like peanut butter or vegetable oil. It breaks down the stickiness. It also works for the residue left behind from price tags and other adhesives.

Peanut butter will help dissolve it. Lighter fluid WILL work too. Goo Gone.

Tell your hubby to do it...(OK, I couldn't resist)
...actually a small amount of lighter fluid may work along with a lot of rubbing (maybe that's where hubby comes in :) )

When I was a kid my mom would use gasoline. Just rub it in and let it soak over night, then it peels right off. Don't smoke while you're doing it though! LOL.
Hope it helps, good luck!
